Writing War: A Guide to Telling Your Own Story is the curriculum for the Veterans Writing Project’s creative writing workshops. It’s a craft-based curriculum focusing on scene, setting, dialogue, narrative structure, plot, and point of view. The book is in use at dozens of VA and DoD health clinics and hospitals.

The book is available as print-on-demand through Amazon. The copyright belongs to the Veterans Writing Project, so the project makes a buck if you buy it there instead of on the secondary market.

It has recently been translated, published, and distributed for free to Ukrainians defending their homeland.
